We carried out a comprehensive renovation of this elegant townhouse in Guildford, delivering a bold yet harmonious expansion that maximised space, light, and functionality. The works included a full-width rear extension, side return, and a loft conversion — all meticulously integrated into the existing architecture to maintain the home’s character while unlocking its potential.

Internally, every room was reimagined and refurbished to an exceptional standard, blending timeless detailing with modern finishes. Externally, we reshaped the garden with hard and soft landscaping, culminating in a beautifully crafted outbuilding, now serving as a bespoke home gym.

This phased project progressed strategically: starting with the rear extension, moving into the side and loft build, and finishing with the landscaping and outbuilding construction — all delivered with careful coordination and zero compromise on quality.

It was important to us to choose the right builders for our renovation, as we looked to transform our old, characterful but freezing house into our forever family home. As this was our first big project, we needed a team with experience, someone who had done it before and could help us navigate the build over a number of months.
In any building project, there are going to be things that come up that are unexpected. What CJFox did well, was explain the problem or issue, then talk us through possible solutions. We never felt pushed into doing one thing vs. another and we always felt confident that any problem could be fixed.
They have a great team of tradespeople, and we saw every aspect during our work – starting with the demolition crew, through the building phase with electricians, plumbers and tilers to the carpenters and painters that were on site to provide the finishing touches. They were able to recommend suppliers for sourcing windows, bathroom fixtures and fittings and the very important kitchen – all their recommendations were good ones.
